The Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures, BCMaterials (Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain), together with IKERBASQUE invites applications for one position of Research Professor in Nanomaterials and Nanostructured Materials and Surfaces to join our new facilities in the Science Park of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
BCMaterials (www.bcmaterials.net) is a young research Centre that is facing its consolidation phase. The scientific strategy of the Centre is based on five research lines that have been set up in order to establish an interdisciplinary system capable of facing the challenges of Materials Science in a broad, form basics to applications, and interdisciplinary way, bringing together competences from Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and Biology-Medicine, among others.
We are looking for candidates with strong experience in the broad field of Nanomaterials and Nanostructured Materials. Experience in materials development and characterization as well as in their applications in sensors and actuators, energy, environmental remediation or biomedicine will be highly valued.
The successful candidate must have an established record of excellence in research in this area and is expected to develop internationally recognized, externally funded research programs that complement or extend the strengths of BCMaterials, build internal and external collaborations, generate technology transfer and mentor graduate students and postdocs.
