Ikerbasque researchers who joined in 2017 welcomed by the Lehendakari

Ikerbasque researchers who joined during 2017 have been received by the Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu and the Minister of Education, Cristina Uriarte, during the annual meeting held in Lehendakaritza.

The Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu has presided over the award of diplomas to the 22 scientists from all fields of knowledge who have joined the universities and research centers of the Basque Country thanks to the Ikerbasque Research Professor, Research Associate and Research Fellow programs.

The event was also attended by Fernando Cossío, scientific director of Ikerbasque, as well as heads of universities, research centers and technology centers of Euskadi.

Currently Ikerbasque has 214 researchers working as Research Professor, Research Associate and Research Fellow in the Basque System of Science, Technology and Innovation. Universities and R & D centers of the Basque Country are benefiting from the contributions of experts in the most diverse fields, ranging from experimental sciences to the humanities, and including medicine, technical and engineering studies or social sciences.
