Open rank position in multiscale simulation of polymers in Polymat

The Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering, POLYMAT Fundazioa together with IKERBASQUE invites applications for a open rank research position in MULTISCALE SIMULATION OF POLYMERS.

We are looking for candidates with strong experience in multiscale simulation of polymers/soft matter. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in polymers, engineering, material science, physics, or closely related field.

The successful candidate must have an established record of excellence in research in the area and is expected to develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program that complement and/or extend the strengths of POLYMAT, build internal and external collaborations and mentor graduate students. The initial appointment (Ikerbasque Research Fellow, Ikerbasque Research Associate or Ikerbasque Research Professor) will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

POLYMAT is a growing interdisciplinary polymer research centre with world-class research facilities devoted to use-inspired fundamental research on synthesis, assembly and processing of polymers that in concert with theory and simulation enable addressing some of the 21st century challenges in areas such as energy, health care and sustainability.

Candidates should submit the following information to idoia.azaldegui@polymat.eu:

  • Cover Letter
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Detailed description of research interests
  • Contact information of three references

Only researchers with a strong record of research and group leading experience will be considered for an Ikerbasque Research Professor position. Applications from younger researchers might be considered for a Research Associate position. Women candidates are especially welcome.

POLYMAT holds the HR Excellence in Research award that reflects our commitment for fair and transparent recruitment and appraisal procedures in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
