Novel solid state electrolytes based on ionic liquids, organic ionic plastic crystals and their polymer composites for advanced battery applications; Understanding structure and dynamics in electrolytes using NMR and MD simulations; Corrosion protection using novel corrosion inhibitors and inhibited coatings; Applied Electrochemistry.
Elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Sciences (FAAS); The Victorian Prize for Science and Innovation (VESKI); International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) Elected Fellow; Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (FRACI); Galileo Galilei Award at the International Symposium on Polymer Electrolytes (ISPE-16 in Sweden); Australasian Corrosion Medal; Deakin Universities Vice Chancellor Award for Excellence in Research Supervision.
