Research line: 
Early medieval church organization and pastoral care; transmission and preservation of early medieval records; languages and identities; early medieval Rome.
Fellow of the Royal Historical Society; Co-ordinating Editor of Early Medieval Europe; Best First Book Prize for Sustaining Belief: The Church of Worcester from c.870 to c.1100 (Ashgate, 2010) awarded by the International Society of Anglo-Saxonists (2011); Best Research Aid Prize for The Forum Hoard of Anglo-Saxon Coins (Rome, 2016; co-authored with Rory Naismith) awarded by the International Society of Anglo-Saxonists (2017).
Previous research experience in the United Kingdom and Italy.
PhD in Medieval Church History awarded by the University of Padua (Italy) in 2000.
