Ikerbasque-AECC-CIC bioGUNE program for the recruitment of an Ikerbasque Research Fellow focused on cancer metabolism

CIC bioGUNE has established a strategic research line on translational oncology, which led to the development of the PREMETACAN program (Precision metabolism for next generation cancer management) funded by the AECC (https://www.contraelcancer.es/es/investigacion/proyectos-aecc/programa-excelencia-aecc-premetacan-metabolismo-precision-0). This research program is built on two scientific goals:

  1. To ascertain the interaction between systemic and cancer metabolism
  2. To strengthen the area of cancer glycobiology

As part of this strategy, we are aiming to recruit a talented young scientist to develop a research line in this topic.

INSTITUTION: CIC bioGUNE (www.cicbiogune.es)

POSITION: Researcher position.

TYPE OF POSITION: Tenure track (Ikerbasque Research Fellow), full-time

Requirements of the candidate:

  • PhD  completed before December 2022.
  • A productive scientific trajectory, in which the versatility of research lines will be considered
  • Experience in the field of cancer metabolism, and its productive output is justified
  • International mobility in laboratories with international recognition in the field of cancer metabolism
  • Alignment of the research experience to the Premetacan working packages

Additional aspects to be considered:

  • Translational research experience (research projects, accreditations for animal experimentation, etc)
  • Training and collaborative work
  • Scientific and lay dissemination activities led by the candidate

CONDITIONS:

  • Tenure track, full-time position, based at CIC bioGUNE.
  • Preferred starting date: Before December 2025.
  • Competitive institutional support and integration into the long-term scientific strategy of the research center.
