CIC bioGUNE, Fundación ONCE and Ikerbasque sign an agreement to promote the research career of people with disabilities

CIC bioGUNE -member of the Basque Research & Technology Alliance, BRTA-, Fundación ONCE and Ikerbasque have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the research career of people with disabilities in the field of health sciences.

By virtue of this agreement, a person with a disability, selected in the doctoral modality of the VIII edition of the ONCE Foundation's “Opportunity for Talent” Scholarship Program, and two other people with disabilities, in the research modality of the aforementioned call, will develop their research work at CIC bioGUNE.

The collaboration agreement is aimed at improving equal opportunities, universal accessibility, inclusion and non-discrimination of people with disabilities, support for diversity and access for people with disabilities to training and employment opportunities.

The training program will be carried out at CIC bioGUNE through employment contracts for people with disabilities in three modalities: Predoctoral Trainee, Postdoctoral Trainee and a third in the modality of Postdoctoral Researcher Fellow.

Amount and duration of the Contracts

In the Predoctoral Trainee modality, the duration of the contract will be extended for a maximum period of three years, with an annual gross salary of 16,422 euros for the first two years and 17,279 euros for the last year. Its financing will be provided by Fundación Once and CIC bioGUNE.

The Postdoctoral Trainee modality will be carried out for a maximum period of three years and with an annual gross salary of 32,423 euros. It will be financed by Fundación ONCE and CIC bioGUNE.

Finally, the Postdoctoral Researcher Fellow modality will be extended for a maximum period of five years through a research contract for access to the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System, with an annual gross salary of 40,164 euros. Its financing will be provided by Ikerbasque, Fundación ONCE and CIC bioGUNE.
